Unfathomable
The best things in my life came from diving into the unknown and chasing curiosity. This series explores the naturally occurring voids that punctuate our world—spaces that pull us close while still holding us at a distance.
Rather than reaching for answers straight away, I invite you to sit with your questions. To see what happens when you let the strange remain strange, allowing the time for discomfort to sharpen into delicious possibility.
When bark breathes bone, Acrylic, 2025, 12x16x1.5, $650

I often begin my works with a full bright underpainting, then allow bits and pieces of that delicious bold color to show through the final painting.
In this particular diptych, I began with a coat of pyrrole red, which I then left intact along the deep, painted edges of the canvas. These two pieces are each 12x16 on their face, with a 1.5 inch depth that sings in person.
